1. Happy Thanksgiving!
On Sunday, October 11, there will be no Sunday School. We encourage you to take this opportunity to enjoy some extra time with family and reflect on all the blessings you have to be thankful for. However, we will still have Preschool and KidzTown ministries during the service. We will resume Sunday School on October 18.
Please note that in observance of Thanksgiving, the church offices will be closed on Monday, October 12, 2026. We will resume normal hours on Tuesday, October 13 at 8:00 am.
Have a happy Thanksgiving!

3. Giving Thanks Through Generosity
"Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever." Psalm 107:1
As we celebrate Thanksgiving, we pause to praise God for His faithfulness, provision, and abundant blessings throughout the year. Every good gift comes from His hand, and we are grateful for His constant care.
This Thanksgiving season, we invite you to prayerfully participate in our special Thanksgiving Offering Goal of $10,000. Our desire is not simply to reach a financial target, but to glorify God through cheerful and sacrificial giving, trusting Him to use these gifts to advance His kingdom and bless others.
As we reflect on God's goodness, let us respond with thankful hearts and open hands. Together, we can testify that God continues to provide far more than we could ask or imagine.
"Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver." 2 Corinthians 9:7
Thank you for joining us in giving thanks to God through generous hearts and faithful stewardship.
4. Harvest for the Hungry 2026
Fall is here, and once again we have the opportunity to share God’s love with those in need, both within our church family and across the Greater Fredericton area.
Harvest for the Hungry, a ministry of our Social Action Team, invites our BSBC family to share in a tangible way with our community as we lead up to Thanksgiving. You are invited to either contribute financially by marking your giving (envelope or etransfer) with "Harvest for the Hungry" or to bring non-perishable food and household items to the church over the two weeks before Thanksgiving.
All donations will be shared between our New Life Ministry (supporting families who struggle to ‘make ends meet’) and the Greener Village Fredericton Food Bank.
Financial donation to the project can be made by simply designating your gift to “Harvest for the Hungry." Financial donations allow the opportunity of purchasing the much-needed items in bulk at a reduced cost, particularly as Greener Village has many partnerships with local suppliers. After Thanksgiving, these financial gifts will be divided evenly between the New Life ministry and Greener Village.
Here are the specific non-perishable requests from our New Life Ministry:
Spaghetti sauce
Spaghetti noodles
Soup
Canned vegetables
Canned meat
Cereal
Kraft dinner
Rice
Packaged items for kid’s lunches
Toilet Paper
We invite you to bring your ‘harvest’ to the Connections Centre on September 27, October 4, or before Thanksgiving Sunday, October 13, where it will be collected and ultimately distributed.
Thank you for making Christ’s love known through your cheerful giving and may God use our ‘harvest’ for His glory!
God is so good.
Social Action Committee
5. Stained Glass Windows Construction
Parallel Studios has started work on removing the south-facing second storey, stained glass windows. This will include set up of scaffolding in the sanctuary parking lot (area accessed from York Street). This will enable the dismantling and removal of the second storey sanctuary windows and may involve set up of lifting equipment from time to time which will further affect parking availability. Parking will be returned to normal once the removal and closure of the openings are complete.
The work will also affect the balcony pews beneath the south-facing windows which will be unavailable for use during construction.
Once the windows are removed, the openings will be covered with temporary plywood boarding, complete with weather gaskets and removable caulking. This will deliver a weather-tight seal. Parallel Studios will return in the spring to re-install the restored windows.
Parallel Studios intends to be on site from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm daily, except Sundays. Their expectation is that their on-site work will be completed on or before Friday, October 16th.
We thank you for your cooperation and patience in allowing this work to run without interference.
Your Board of Management

13. Green Hill Lake Camp
Hey! Greetings from GHLC!
It’s hard to believe another summer has come and gone! We are so thankful for another incredible season of ministry and for the staff, volunteers, churches, donors, families, and friends who helped make it possible.
This summer we continued to see campers of all ages coming through our gates, to true new things, meet new friends and encounter God. Seeds were planted, meaningful conversations happened, and we celebrated with campers who made decisions to follow Jesus. Thank you for being part of what God is doing at Green Hill!
Here are a few ways to stay connected with GHLC this fall:
GHLC Women’s Fall Retreat: October 23 to 25
Step away from the rush, rest in God’s presence, and leave refreshed, connected, and reminded of His faithfulness.

Fall Projects at GHLC

If you or a group from your church would be interested in volunteering for a day or two, we would love to hear from you. Call the camp office at 506-463-2267 or email info@greenhill.ca, and we can chat about what needs to be done.
Christmas at the Lake: November 21
Save the date for our annual family dinner, Christmas at the Lake, on Saturday, November 21st from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at GHLC! Join us for a turkey dinner, Christmas carols, special music, a children’s program, and a great evening of fellowship as we celebrate the Christmas season together. An offering will be received in support of the ongoing ministry of GHLC.
We are so thankful for the many people and churches who continue to make this ministry possible. As we head into another season, we hope you’ll continue to join us in the ministry here at GHLC – through prayer, giving, volunteering, attending events, and simply sharing what God is doing at camp.
See you at the Lake!
Praise Him \0/

14. BSBC Missions Partners: The Ritchie Family
On Friday, October 16, we celebrate Bob Ingraham’s 97th birthday!
Bob has been a faithful member of BSBC for more than 60 years, and quite possibly longer than many of us have been around. Through the years, he has shared his time, talents, and servant's heart in many areas of church life, including helping in the church kitchen during Alpha sessions. Bob fondly remembers the many friendships and memories he has made as part of our church family.
Bob was married to his beloved wife, Marion, for 66 wonderful years. He misses her dearly, remembering her not only as his wife and best friend, but also as his devoted caregiver. Today, Bob lives with his daughter, Anne, in Grand Lake, while his other daughter, Leslie, lives in Nova Scotia and visits often.
As we celebrate this remarkable milestone, we thank God for Bob's life, his faithfulness, and the blessing he has been to so many. If you would like to send Bob a birthday card or note of encouragement, please contact the church office for his mailing address.
Happy 97th Birthday, Bob! May God continue to bless you with His love, peace, and joy.
15. Happy 97th Birthday Bob!

A. Sunday Streets Muffin Ministry: November 8
On behalf of our brothers and sisters who make a weekly evening trek around the city to visit those sleeping rough, and the members of your Social Action Team, thank you ‘muffin makers’ for your faithfulness serving in this way. Your sweet generosity is more than just baked goods; it’s an expression of care and hope in Jesus’ name.
Our Street Ministry team need muffins as soon as November 8 for our Sunday night outreach program. As we prepare for the busy summer months, we aim to have 4 dozen muffins each week to ensure we’re well-stocked and ready to bless those we serve. If you are able to help in this way, please place 12 muffins, individually wrapped, in a large zipper locked bag, and label the bag “Street Ministry”. Don’t forget to include your name and the delivery date for which you signed up. You can place the labeled muffins in the upright freezer in the main kitchen.
Please click the link below or call the church office (506-458-8348) and our admin team will be pleased to do the online registration for you. Jesus spoke of offering cups of cold water in his name. Muffins, we believe, offer the same opportunity to bless others for Him.
B. Security Volunteers Needed
We’re seeking dedicated volunteers to help keep our church safe and welcoming on weekday evenings from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. Your presence makes a real difference — creating a warm, secure space where everyone feels at home. If you’re ready to step up and be part of this vital ministry, reach out to Mike Bech or call the church office at 506-458-8348 to learn more or sign up.
C. Third Sunday Supper: 2027 Monthly Schedule!
On the Third Sunday of each month, we host a supper for those in need in our community. We are now looking to fill our 2027 monthly calendar with folks willing to prepare a meal for our Third Sunday Supper (TSS) guests. At this time we only have January filled. All the other months are available, and we are anxious to fill the first few months, to get us going. We'd appreciate if you would prayerfully consider helping out with this ministry that the Lord has truly blessed for so many years.
Please contact Judy Thompson, TSS Meal Coordinator, at 506-238-9903 or judypaul1088@gmail.com. If you wish to serve in another way, just come along on the third Sunday of each month at 4:00pm. Thank you and God Bless You!

Nursery – Melanie Tingley, Leslie Fraser
Preschool – Alyse Wilton, Eunice Nti
KidzTown – Sam Essel, Ebun Agholor
Rev. Ross Watters will be preaching in both services. He will be focusing on Acts 15 this week. Of his sermon he says: “As we continue our series, The Early Church: A Community of Transitions, we come to Acts 15 and one of the early church’s most significant moments of change. The growing community finds itself wrestling with disagreement, uncertainty, and the question of who truly belongs. Yet, in the midst of transition, they discover again just how wide God’s grace is and just how faithful the Holy Spirit is. As we celebrate Thanksgiving Sunday together, Acts 15 invites us to look back with gratitude. Not simply because everything has always been easy or certain, but because God has been faithful through every change. This Sunday, we will reflect on the grace that has brought us this far, give thanks for the people who have walked the journey with us, and decide again to trust God for the road still ahead.”
We look forward to seeing you for a hope-filled Sunday as we worship together. Whether in-person or online, be sure to join us this Sunday morning for our Traditional Service at 9:30 am or our Contemporary Service at 11:15 am.
