1. Celebrating 10 Years of Chinese Ministry at BSBC
This month marks a joyful milestone 10 years since the establishment of our Chinese congregation! Our very first worship service was held on August 30, 2015, and we are so grateful for God’s faithfulness over the past decade.
To celebrate, we’re hosting a special 10th Anniversary Celebration on Friday, August 23, and everyone is invited to join us in giving thanks and rejoicing together!
Date: Friday, August 23
Celebration Service: 2:00 to 4:00 pm
Potluck Dinner: 5:00 pm in the Gym
We’ve also invited friends and former members from near and far who have been part of our journey. Let’s come together to honor the past, celebrate the present, and look forward to what God has in store for the future!
Please contact Pastor Changbin if you have any questions or want to help out.
We hope to see you there!
2. Pray for Oasis: August 7 – 9
Each August, pastors, leaders, and members from Atlantic Baptist churches gather for OASIS — a time to deepen relationships, build community, gain tools for thriving in ministry, worship together, make decisions around budgets, and cast vision for the future. It’s also a time to celebrate God’s faithfulness and our shared mission.
This year’s gathering, Oasis 2025, is happening from August 7 to 9. Please pray for our delegates as they travel, connect, worship, and engage in meaningful conversations.
It is our prayer and hope that all who attend will leave OASIS “overflowing with hope,” filled with inspiration, new friendships, and joy leading into the fall season.
3. Youth Group Supper Volunteers Needed!
Do you love to cook? Looking for a fun and meaningful way to serve? Come be part of our Youth Group Supper Team and help bless our teens with a warm meal and friendly connection!
We’re looking for volunteers to help prepare simple and delicious meals once a month on Thursday evenings at 5:00 pm starting September 11. All meal costs are covered — we just need your heart for hospitality and your hands in the kitchen.
If you or someone you know might be a good fit, contact Pastor Nikki (nikki@bsbc.nb.ca) — she’d love to connect with you and share more about this opportunity to serve.
Let’s nourish our youth — body and soul!
4. Change in BSBC Volunteer Coordinator for the Fredericton Community Kitchen
Since 1998, volunteers from BSBC have faithfully served at the Fredericton Community Kitchen once a month, helping to provide meals and support to those in need. Each month, four volunteers from BSBC assist at the Kitchen on the second Monday of each month from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
For the past 19 years, Dale Bray has coordinated this vital outreach on behalf of our church, reporting through the Social Action Team. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Dale for his long-standing commitment and faithful service in this role.
As of August 14, 2025, Ian Howey will bet taking taken over the role of the BSBC Volunteer Coordinator. Ian may be reaching out to members and adherents to invite them to serve at the Kitchen from time to time. If you’re interested in volunteering, you are warmly encouraged to contact Ian directly at 506-476-6505 or ian.howey@nbpcd.com.
A sincere thank you to all who have volunteered over the past 19 years and especially to Dale Bray for his service. Many have found the volunteering experience both meaningful and rewarding and we pray this continues to develop under Ian Howey’s leadership.

6. Grief Share Fall Start Up: September 4
If you’re suffering the loss of a loved one, Grief Share, a Christian-based video-discussion support group, offers hope and support through a 14-week, Christian-based video and discussion group by Christian experts on grief and recovery. Brunswick Street Baptist Church is pleased to offer Grief Share with sessions beginning Thursday, September 4, 2025, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm in the Family Room, Family Life Center at Brunswick Street Baptist Church.
7. Muffin Ministry: Aug 31
On behalf of our brothers and sisters who make a weekly evening trek around the city to visit those sleeping rough, and the members of your Social Action Team, thank you ‘muffin makers’ for your faithfulness serving in this way. Your sweet generosity is more than just baked goods; it’s an expression of care and hope in Jesus’ name.
Our Street Ministry team need muffins as soon as Aug 31 for our Sunday night outreach program. As we prepare for the busy summer months, we aim to have 4 dozen muffins each week to ensure we’re well-stocked and ready to bless those we serve. If you are able to help in this way, please place 12 muffins, individually wrapped, in a large zipper locked bag, and label the bag “Street Ministry”. Don’t forget to include your name and the delivery date for which you signed up. You can place the labeled muffins in the upright freezer in the main kitchen.
Please click the link below or call the church office (506-458-8348) and our admin team will be pleased to do the online registration for you. Jesus spoke of offering cups of cold water in his name. Muffins, we believe, offer the same opportunity to bless others for Him.

11. Adult Bible Studies
There is so much going on at our Church that sometimes it is hard to keep track! To help ease your calendar preparation, here is a brief list of programs and events that we have on offer:
12. This Sunday’s Worship Gatherings: August 10
In the Sanctuary, the worship team will be led by David Steeves and Gloria Tranquilla. In the gym, the worship team will be lead by Greg Keezer.
Rev. Ross Watters will be preaching in the sanctuary of his sermon titled “Jesus Appears to His Disciples” he says, “This Sunday in the Sanctuary we are continuing in our 'Signs of Life' sermon series, this week, looking at the theme of 'Respiration'. The Holy Spirit is regularly linked with the theme of breathing in the Scriptures and is deeply symbolically rich. Throughout the Bible, the Holy Spirit is associated with breath, wind, and life-giving power—the very essence of respiration. Join us this Sunday, as we look at what it means for us as followers of Jesus today!”
Dr. Keith Bodner will be preaching in the gym of his sermon titled “After the Battle”, he says “Our short summer series in the book of Judges wraps up with the final installment of the Gideon story. Last time we ended on a cliffhanger: despite his protests, Gideon is chosen to lead the battle against the Midianites, and he must be surprised that God only permits 300 troops to accompany him against a daunting horde! But with a clever tactic involving trumpets and torches, there is a shocking outcome that can only be explained as a divine intervention. After recounting these events, our attention will turn to the aftermath of battle: what happens in light of this spectacular victory? Is there a battle after the battle? While these closing scenes in Judges 8 do not get much attention, they provide us with a cautionary tale that has a range of applications as we seek to be faithful disciples at this particular cultural moment where we find ourselves.”
Whether in-person or online, be sure to join us this Sunday morning at 10:30 am.
