1. Special Business Meeting: Sunday, July 20

At the request of the Board of Management, the Moderator is calling a Special Business Meeting to be held this Sunday, July 20th, immediately following the morning service in the sanctuary. The first purpose of the meeting is to seek approval for additional spending on church repairs and maintenance that were not included in the original budget. In order to achieve quorum, all members are encouraged to attend.

The second purpose of the meeting is to accept the accountant-prepared 2024 financial statements which have been approved by the Board of Management. You may contact the church office (receptionist@bsbc.nb.ca) to get a copy of these statements emailed to you.

We look forward to seeing you there.

2. Choir Room Refresh

The choir room has been freshly cleaned and organized—ready for all your musical preparations! Just next door, in the Memorial Room, you'll find a collection of items being given away: candles, hymnals, baskets, choir gowns, and more. Feel free to browse and help yourself to anything you’d like. All remaining items will be removed on July 22, so please stop by while there’s still a good selection.

3. New Brunswick Christian Ashram: August 7-10

For more information, please contact Don & Pat Burdon at (506) 471-6051 or Doug & Doris Ashfield at (506) 472-7519.

4. GHLC Share a Wage

Green Hill Lake Camp’s summer program runs with a team of 60 staff, many of whom are students offsetting high education costs. Our Share-A-Wage program helps make it possible for these young people to serve by providing financial support through friends, family, and church communities.

In 2025, our goal is to raise $40,000 to help cover summer employment needs. Gifts are used at the discretion of the GHLC Board to support the ministry and its dedicated staff.

Your gift helps make the summer camp experience accessible and gospel centered. Thank you for considering how you might support our summer staff through Share-A-Wage.

5. Muffin Ministry: Aug 24

On behalf of our brothers and sisters who make a weekly evening trek around the city to visit those sleeping rough, and the members of your Social Action Team, thank you ‘muffin makers’ for your faithfulness serving in this way. Your sweet generosity is more than just baked goods; it’s a tangible expression of care and hope in Jesus’ name.

Our Street Ministry team need muffins as soon as Aug 24 for our Sunday night outreach program. As we prepare for the busy summer months, we’re now aiming to have 4 dozen muffins each week to ensure we’re well-stocked and ready to bless those we serve. If you are able to help in this way, please place 12 muffins, individually wrapped, in a large zipper locked bag, and label the bag “Street Ministry”. Don’t forget to include your name and the delivery date for which you signed up. You can place the labeled muffins in the upright freezer in the main kitchen.

Please click the link below or call the church office (506-458-8348) and our admin team will be pleased to do the online registration for you. Jesus spoke of offering cups of cold water in his name. Muffins, we believe, offer the same opportunity to bless others for Him.

Tidal Impact Update:

This past week, 19 of our BSBC students and 7 leaders took part in Tidal Impact in PEI. Thank you so much for your prayers and support!

Throughout the week, our team served in a variety of ways—cleaning up garbage in schoolyards and on trails, leading VBS, helping out at a horse sanctuary, working with multiple fire stations, running a food drive, and so much more.

It was an incredible week filled with service, worship, and opportunities to share the love of Jesus with others—and to experience His love ourselves.

A huge thank you to our entire team for giving up a week of your summer to be the hands and feet of Jesus. We're so proud of you!

9. Adult Bible Studies

There is so much going on at our Church that sometimes it is hard to keep track! To help ease your calendar preparation, here is a brief list of programs and events that we have on offer:

10. This Sunday’s Worship Gatherings: July 20

In the Sanctuary, the worship team will be led by David Steeves and Gloria Tranquilla. In the Gym, worship will be led by Greg Keezer.

Dr. Keith Bodner will be preaching in the sanctuary. Of his sermon titled Judges 7: “Big Reveal”, he says, “Our short summer series in the book of Judges is poised to continue this week, after an eventful start in chapter 6. As we noted, Judges is located in the time period of Judges after Moses and Joshua, when there are no commanding leaders, and less national accountability. A pattern is evident from the earliest moments of the story, whereby the people abandon God, and a host of problems ensue. A key challenge in the book is the struggle between faithfulness to their covenant relationship with God and being enticed by the world around them. Our main character in this section of Judges is Gideon, who is chosen for an important task despite doubts, questions and a habit of asking for signs: and as we will see, there is a shocking “reveal” about the family of Gideon. This week we continue to probe the life and motives of this character, and we will note some compelling similarities in our discipleship challenges as we seek to be faithful stewards of grace in our nation today.”

Rev. Ross Watters will be preaching in the gym. Of his sermon he says, “Jesus came so that we may have life and have it in abundance! What are the signs of life we should be looking to find in both our personal faith life and church community to know that we are indeed alive spiritually? Join us this Sunday, in the Gym and beyond to start exploring these ‘Signs of Life’ together, starting in John 10: 1 – 21.”

Whether in-person or online, be sure to join us this Sunday morning at 10:30 am.

Your Deacons want to affirm that BSBC is equipped to provide Pastoral Care. We are grateful for our pastors, Rev. Ross and Pastor Nikki, and we are blessed to have additional support from Doug McAllister, our Summer Sanctuary Ministry Coordinator, Benevolent Coordinator and Senior’s Visitation Pastor and Rev. Kevin Culberson, the Baptist Chaplin at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital.
