1. Happy Father’s Day

This Sunday, June 15, we celebrate and give thanks for the fathers, grandfathers, father figures, and our Heavenly Father in our lives. Your strength, wisdom, and faith-filled leadership are such a blessing to your families and to our church family.

Whether you're a dad, stepdad, mentor, or encourager—we honor the love and care you pour into others. May God continue to guide and bless you as you lead with grace, courage, and compassion.

"The righteous man walks in his integrity; his children are blessed after him." – Proverbs 20:7

Happy Father’s Day from all of us at BSBC!

2. Meet Elaine Tian

Hi! I’m Elaine Tian, and I’ll be serving here at BSBC as the summer student for the children and youth ministry this summer! I am currently studying Biology and Psychology at UNB.

In my free time, I love doing arts and crafts. I’m really looking forward to connecting with the amazing children and youth here—sharing creativity, building relationships, and growing together in faith!

3. Congratulations Pastor Nikki Kincade!

We joyfully celebrated the union of Pastor Nikki Kincade and William Kincade, who were married on June 7! May God continue to richly bless their marriage with love, joy, and guidance.

Pastor Nikki’s Vacation: June 3 to 22

Pastor Nikki will be away on her honeymoon from June 3 to 22 and will return on June 23. If you have any questions about the Children’s Ministry, please reach out to Sam Essel. For any questions regarding the Youth Ministry, please contact Naomi Phillips, and she will direct you to the appropriate person.

4. Celebrate Father’s Day with Music

Men’s Choir Invitation

A Men’s Choir is preparing a special selection to sing in the Father’s Day Sanctuary Service on Sunday, June 15. All men who enjoy singing are warmly invited to take part.

Rehearsals will be held in the Choir Room from 6:00–6:30 pm on Wednesday, June 11.

5. Muffin Ministry

On behalf of our brothers and sisters who make a weekly evening trek around the city to visit those sleeping rough, and the members of your Social Action Team, thank you ‘muffin makers’ for your faithfulness serving in this way. Your sweet generosity is more than just baked goods; it’s a tangible expression of care and hope in Jesus’ name.

Our Street Ministry team need muffins as soon as June 15 for our Sunday night outreach program. As we prepare for the busy summer months, we’re now aiming to have 4 dozen muffins each week to ensure we’re well-stocked and ready to bless those we serve. If you are able to help in this way, please place 12 muffins, individually wrapped, in a large zipper locked bag, and label the bag “Street Ministry”. Don’t forget to include your name and the delivery date for which you signed up. You can place the labeled muffins in the upright freezer in the main kitchen.

Please click the link below or call the church office (506-458-8348) and our admin team will be pleased to do the online registration for you. Jesus spoke of offering cups of cold water in his name. Muffins, we believe, offer the same opportunity to bless others for Him.

6. Volunteer Opportunities

Security Volunteers

We are currently looking for volunteers to help with church security on weekday evenings from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. Your presence helps ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all who come through our doors.

If you’re willing to serve in this important ministry, please contact Dan Lutes or the church office, 506-458-8348, for more information or to sign up.

Thank you for considering this opportunity to serve!

7. Food Safety Training: June 25

We’re excited to share that BSBC is hosting a special food safety seminar, and we’d love for you to be part of it! Whether you help with food prep, serving, or cleanup in any of our kitchens, this session is for you.

Join us in the Family Room on Wednesday, June 25 at 10:00 am for a two-hour talk titled “The ABC’s of Food Safety,” led by Erin Lamey, Public Health Inspector. This engaging seminar offers essential, practical guidance on safe food handling practices—helping us care well for those we serve.

We especially encourage anyone involved in food service at BSBC to attend if possible. For those who can't attend, please let us know and we’ll have extra booklets available.

To help us plan, please RSVP to Kellie Brown (ssduluth@nbnet.nb.ca) or Andrea Bragdon (andreabragdon@rogers.com). We’re looking forward to a great morning together!

8. Upcoming Summer Ashrams

Don’t miss the opportunity to attend a Christian Ashram! An Ashram is a time for learning, prayer, reflection, fellowship, and rest, focused on deepening one’s relationship with Jesus Christ and cultivating spiritual growth. Come alone or with your family!

Nova Scotia Christian Ashram: July 10-15

New Brunswick Christian Ashram: August 7-10

For more information, please contact Don & Pat Burdon at (506) 471-6051 or Doug & Doris Ashfield at (506) 472-7519.

9. GHLC Sponsorship: New Life and Other Ministries

Spring is coming.......so summer is sure to follow! Our New Life ladies and other church ministries have seven children that would love to go to Green Hill Lake Camp this summer. The cost to send seven children to camp is approximately $5,000.00. If you would like to help make this happen, please mark your envelope, or if you give in another way, please identify your gift with GHLC Camper or Sponsorship.

So far, we have received $2,520.00 for GHLC sponsorships – over halfway to our goal!

Thank you for considering supporting this opportunity for children to attend camp "where Christ is made known".

10. GHLC Health Centre Donations Needed

We're in full swing organizing our health and safety supplies as we gear up for an exciting season ahead. With school groups arriving soon for their adventure-filled days and summer camps just around the corner, we're making sure everything is in place to keep everyone safe and well-prepared.

You'll find fully stocked first aid kits at key activity centers across the campsite, workplace-level kits in the maintenance shop and kitchen, and mini kits in each cabin. For our off-site adventures—like canoe and bicycle camps—we’ve packed larger first aid packs to ensure we're ready for anything.

Nurse Nancy and Boo Boo (aka Carol Reimer) have placed a tote in the Connection Centre for anyone wishing to donate supplies for the Health Centre.

For First Aid, we are looking for the following:

Band-aids of all sizes and types, tick removal kits, small freezies (for tasty ice packs), medical tape, gauze pads 2x2 and 4x4, gauze rolls, large absorbent dressings, antiseptic wound spray, Moleskin bandages for blisters, sunscreen.

We often have campers arrive without personal hygiene items and like to have a stock of the following:

Travel size shampoo & body wash, facecloths, deodorant, combs, brushes, feminine hygiene items.

The most important thing we want this summer though is your prayers for the health and safety of everyone who comes to Green Hill Lake Camp.

11. Oasis: August 7 to 9

Oasis is the annual gathering of the Canadian Baptists of Atlantic Canada (CBAC), a family of churches spread all over Atlantic Canada. CBAC churches send pastors and delegates to Oasis. Each August, we gather to deepen relationships, build community, learn tools for thriving in ministry, worship together, make decisions around budgets, and vision for the future. OASIS is also a time to celebrate God’s faithfulness and our shared mission.

Our theme this year is “Hope upon Hope”. It is our prayer and hope that you leave OASIS “overflowing with hope”, filled with inspiration, new friendships, and joy leading into the fall season. Join us for the 179th Annual gathering this August. OASIS will take place August 7-9, 2025, on the Acadia University campus in Wolfville, Nova Scotia.

We currently have nine delegates registered. To be a delegate for BSBC, you must be a member of BSBC. Based on our membership, we can send 10 delegates. If you are not a member, you can start the process for membership or you can attend OASIS as a guest. Guests can participate in everything but cannot vote on business. Are you interested in being one of our delegates to OASIS? We are able to provide a stipend of $200 to cover your registration and help with expenses. If you would like to become a member or if you are able to attend, please contact Naomi in the church office (naomi.phillips@bsbc.nb.ca) and she will complete your registration.

In preparation for registration, delegates will be asked to indicate their preferred Breakout Workshops.

Our very own Rev. Ross Watters is leading one of the Oasis Rallies titled “Hope in The Church”.

There is so much going on at our Church that sometimes it is hard to keep track! To help ease your calendar preparation, here is a brief list of programs and events that we have on offer:

18. This Sunday’s Worship Gatherings: June 15

This Sunday is Father’s Day. In the Sanctuary, the worship team will be led by David Steeves and Gloria Tranquilla with special music from a Girls’ Ensemble, Susan Howey, and a Mens’ Choir. In the Gym, worship will be led by Illyana Vermeersch.

Pastor Ross will be in the gym. Pastor Ross will be sharing a sermon on Jonah Chapter 3 around the theme of Judgement.

Dr. Keith Bodner will be in the sanctuary. Of his sermon titled “Beyond the Sea” he says, “Although some contemporary worship bands love to sing about the theme of “oceans,” for the ancient Israelites, water was a fearful thought, and the sea was generally believed to be a source of chaos and instability. So, when Jesus teaches “in a boat, on the sea” it is an illustration of how he vitiates chaos from our lives, and when he walks on water it shows how he is above our storms. In Matthew 13 there is a short and powerful parable of “the net,” where the Kingdom of God is compared to a net that is cast into the sea in order to gather fish of “every nation.” On this Sunday morning we’ll explore this story of the net and note the layers of application for growth and holiness in our lives as followers of Jesus during these rather challenging days.”

Whether in-person or online, be sure to join us this Sunday morning at 10:30 am.
